Comeback Complete – Nick Lorenz and Carson Alread Return From Injuries To Podium

Duluth, MN (December 17, 2019) – The past two years have been the longest on record for the Judnick Motorsports team, having battled through the retirement of a multi-time champion, multiple season-ending injuries and the development of new and fill-in riders. On Sunday, however, it all came full circle as Nickolas Lorenz stepped on the Pro Lite podium in second place, getting back to where he was before two seasons of knee injuries kept him out of the lineup.

To top things off, our Sport class rider Carson Alread, who we did not even expect to race ever again just six months ago, made his way to the very top of the box after standing on the second and third place steps Friday and Saturday. For Alread it was a return to the form he showed at the beginning of last season, leading the class championship before his injury.

The team trailer finally feels like home again and it is a just reward not only for the riders who have put in the work to get back, but to the crew members who have never stopped giving 100% through these challenging times.

Not to be overlooked is the performance of our rookie Pro racer Trent Wittwer. With only one year of Pro Lite experience under his belt coming into the season Trent had big shoes to fill. And while the first month of the season has been an adjustment for all of us, Trent more than met our expectations, finishing inside the top three in his qualifiers and twice in the top 10 in main events.

One weekend does not make a season but we truly feel the best is yet to come and can’t wait to get to rounds 5 & 6 when the series resumes after the holiday break at Canterbury Park just outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The next event will also be a three-day race with Sunday slated as the final makeup round for the postponed finals from Duluth, Minnesota.

There was plenty of emotion in the air on Sunday. Veteran crew chief Tony Swiontek congratulates Lorenz fresh off his second place finish.
