Judnick Motorsports Signs RJ Roy To Fill Pro Lite Seat

Duluth, MN (December 1, 2018) – The Polaris Racing/AMSOIL/Klim/Jack Link’s/Axalta snocross team has signed RJ Roy of Porcupine, Ontario to ride their Pro Lite entry in the AMSOIL Championship Snocross series, upon learning that team rider Nick Lorenz would miss the remainder of the season after surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his knee.

“Losing Nick for the year is devastating for the entire team,” said Scott Judnick. He had worked hard to come back strong this winter and we had really big hopes for him in the Pro Lite championship. Fortunately, we were able to work out a deal with RJ and Huber Motorsports to fill in for Nick and give him a shot on the national tour.”

RJ Roy is 23 years old and has been racing snocross for six seasons, primarily with the CSRA circuit in Eastern Canada. He was the 2016 and 2017 Pro Lite champion in that series with Huber Motorsports/Polaris and has made four starts in the ISOC national series over the past three seasons, including the opening round in Duluth, Minnesota one week ago.

“I know this is a fill-in ride, but this has been the goal ever since I started racing,” said Roy. To get a ride in one of the premier trailers in the states. I don’t think it has even sunk in yet. I’m really grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to get to Jackson Hole to show what I can do.”

Roy will be relocating to Elk River, Minnesota after the Christmas break and will be living and training full-time with teammate Corin Todd.
