Lorenz Golden In Black Hills, Alread Scores Career Best Third

Duluth, Minn. (February 1, 2021) – Nick Lorenz dominated the Pro Lite class at round 5 of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross series, piloting his Klim/Jack Link’s Polaris to a sweep of his two qualifying rounds and the main event.

The tight and treacherous bullring in the heart of Deadwood, South Dakota has claimed many a rider who were at the top of their game, but Lorenz quickly distanced himself from the pack in the main event and rode a smart race, avoiding trouble and bringing home his first win of the season.

Nick Lorenz –
I rode really well all night. I ripped all three starts and went 1-1-1. I’ve been complaining to the guys all year that if I get a start, I’ll win a race and it feels really good to finally do that for them.

Carson Alread continued to be the model of consistency in his rookie season in the Pro Lite division, scoring another top five finish on Friday.

On Saturday, Alread jumped to the lead of the Pro Lite final and looked to be on his way a second team victory in as many nights. Unfortunately, contact from some point in the day caused the bolt that connects the right front a-arm to the ski spindle, broke with just four laps remaining forcing Alread to muscle his ill-handling machine the finish. Remarkably, he was able to retain the third spot on the podium for his best finish ever in the class.

Lorenz backed his Friday night win with a sixth place adding to a huge points paying weekend that rocketed him into the top five in the championship.

Pro racer Emil Harr was having his best run of the season on Saturday, turning laps inside the top five before getting caught in one of the many pileups that occurred in the race, relegating him to 13th.

South Dakota race fans came out in full force to watch the event and it will now be a quick turnaround for the team to make repairs and head back west to Fargo, North Dakota for rounds 7-8 of the national tour this Friday and Saturday.
