2014-15 Season Underway

2014-15 Season Gets Underway In Duluth, Minnesota

After months of anticipation, the AMSOIL Championship Snocrosss season is finally back underway, opening with the traditional Duluth National at Spirit Mt. in Duluth, Minnesota.

For the past four seasons, the event has kicked off with the $10,000 to win AMSOIL Dominator match race in which Pro Open competitors square off in head-to-head elimination races until only one rider stands victorious. Ross Martin captured the first two Dominator races in 2011 and 2012 and was back in contention at this year’s event. Martin held off challenges in his first two rounds before getting edged out in the semi-finals. He then made his way into the main event when he won the a consolation showdown with fellow Polaris racer Jake Scott. Ross made a strong run in the final but came up just short finishing second overall.

Unfortunately, the team experienced more than its share of bad luck throughout the remainder of the weekend. Both Ross and Pro Lite racer James Johnstad turned in a number of great qualifying runs only to get caught up in some misfortune that can often rear its head at the season opener.

Although the results are not what we have come to expect, the team left Duluth knowing we have capable equipment and the riders to get the job done and is looking forward to a solid two weeks of testing and the upcoming national event in Fargo, North Dakota on December 12-13
