Jake Angove Top 10 In Pro Snocross Debut

Duluth, MN (November 27, 2017) – Jake Angove battled through some first day jitters to earn two top 10 finishes in his opening weekend in the AMSOIL Championship Snocross Pro division.

The 2017 Pro Lite runner-up, Angove had a strong third place run in his first heat race on Saturday but struggled throughout the day to find a balance between race pace and riding over his head. By the end of the night he was able to put in solid laps in the main event and finish tenth from a back row starting spot.

On Sunday, Angove continued to settle in and while he did have to go through the Last Chance Qualifier, turned in his best performance of the weekend advancing from the back row to a seventh place finish in the final. At one point Jake held the number six position and was gaining on fifth before coming off his sled momentarily and losing one spot.

“I was a little nervous all weekend,” said Angove. I wish the starts would have been a little better but I’m happy with my last race and I know I can do it now so I’m just going to build off that.”

It was a similar story for Carson Alread who was making his first start for the team in the Sport division. Alread won his first qualifying race on Friday but had trouble at the start of his second heat which placed him in the LCQ. He would transfer into the main event and finish twelfth after battling from a second row starting spot.

On Saturday Alread came out swinging again with first and third in qualifying which put him on the front row for the final. Carson jumped out to a fourth place start and held the position the entire distance.

The team will have one weekend off to regroup from a month of testing and the opening rounds before heading to a new venue in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for rounds three and four of the national tour.

Next up is the Jackson Hole Snocross National on December 8-9.
