Nick Lorenz Returns To Action In Michigan, Injuries Plague Team At Rounds 11 & 12
Duluth, MN (February 27, 2018) – Nick Lorenz made his long-awaited return to the Judnick Motorsports team on Friday, after sitting out the opening 10 rounds of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross series while rehabbing an ACL that was torn in an off-season training ride. Initially it was unclear if Lorenz would be able to return to the track at all this season, but he was recently cleared to start riding.
Nick took part in two heat races at round 11 on Friday and even turned in a top three finish. Unfortunately, Nick took an impact to his leg that resulted in a fractured tibia plateau, completely unrelated to his knee injury, that will keep him out for the rest of the season.
Nagging injuries plagued Pro rider Jake Angove throughout the weekend as well. Angove had strong qualifying performances on Friday finishing fifth and second, but a couple of practice crashes prevented him from competing at full capacity on Saturday.
Testing and recovery are on the menu for the next 10 days before the team heads to Dubuque, Iowa for rounds 13 and 14 of the series on March 9-10.
