Weather Forces Cancellation of Duluth National Rounds 1 and 2 to be rescheduled

Duluth, MN (December 2, 2019) – An early winter blizzard dumped nearly 24 inches of snow in less than 24 hours, forcing race officials to postpone rounds one and two of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross series in Duluth, Minnesota.

All three team riders were able to get some track time on Friday as Trent Wittwer and Nick Lorenz took part in qualifying for the $10,000 to win head-to-head Dominator race. Neither rider was able to advance to the field of 16, but both posted respectable times that had the team looking forward to their Pro and Pro Lite rounds on Saturday.

Sport class racer Carson Alread had a third place finish in his first heat race but a hard crash in round two kept him out of the main event. On Saturday, Alread bounced back with 1-1 finishes in Sport qualifying. However, as wind and snow moved in off of Lake Superior, the night show was cancelled nullifying his efforts.

The team will build off of our limited data from the weekend and move on to rounds three and four just outside of Fargo, North Dakota in two weeks. This will now be a three day event with one makeup round to take place during the weekend.

Trent Wittwer was able to make his first appearance in the Pro class while attempting to qualify for Friday’s Dominator head-to-head race.

Pro Lite rider Nick Lorenz made his long-awaited return from injury on Friday as well, posting solid times amongst the top Pro and Pro Lite riders.

Carson Alread may have been the fastest Sport rider on the track all weekend, winning two heat races on Saturday.
